About

BLOG:

As you walk on this earth with your strained legs and a heavy mind, some thoughts floating in the breeze of the world collide with your brain and generate a certain level of curiosity which does not get shooed away easily.

These thoughts rest in your mind and accompany you on your daily errands. They propel themselves to manifestation in the form of poetry or prose. A certain dumping ground is needed in order to clear your mind and move on with your life.

This Blog is an attempt to create that dumping ground for Ilyas Ahmed’s thoughts.

AUTHOR:

As described in his Instagram bio, Ilyas is a thin, tall guy who usually keeps quiet but will occasionally bore you with his Poetry, fleeting indulgences and raw opinions.

He spends his time mainly thinking about things to write and complaining about how he doesn’t have enough time to write.

Sometimes, to ease his guilt conscience, he publishes those uncooked, hurriedly-written, incomplete drafts of ideas in the form of a poem, prose, short story or a screenplay (which is what this blog is made of)

In the past, when asked about his writing, Ilyas always used to answer with abstract things like ideas, passion, desire, want etc. which did not impress people much.

Now, he talks about his Blog and repeats it’s unphonetic and unusual name over and over and even explains the meaning of the name which does not impress people much.

NAME:

The name of the Blog is just a play on words.

Alkun in Arabic means ‘The Universe’.
Adding a pronoun ‘i’ in the end translates it to ‘My Universe’ (Universe of mine)
Ilyas thought that was very cool.

Plus Ilyas’ name starts with ‘i’ so it can also be translated as ‘Universe of Ilyas’.
Ilyas was actually saving that as a trivia for an interview in his later life where he’d be brought in to talk about his award-winning screenplay/novel/poetry collection.
He would respond with a pleasant surprise that some people on Reddit had already figured out this Easter-egg.

Help him get there.
